The iPhone is the most popular
make of phone in the world, and with good reason, iPhones are generally fast,
reliable and easy to use. However, they do come with a very steep price tag. If
you're looking to buy a new mobile phone, you may wonder if the iPhone is worth
its price. There are many other models of phone on the market nowadays, and
most of them run significantly cheaper than Apple's products. Huawei is a phone
manufacturer renowned for producing low cost smart phones. And price is a big
part of making a decision when buying a phone. We took the Huawei Ascend G330
and put it to the test against the iPhone 4S to see exactly how they compare
and what their differences are. The iPhone runs a little more expensive than
the Huawei, and we wanted to know if the price difference was worth it. If you
want to know who comes out on top, you're going to have to keep reading to find
out our recommendation...
Why You Might Want the iPhone 4S...
Of
course, the iPhone has a lot going for it. Depending on which model you buy the
iPhone has a lot more internal storage, coming with up to 64 GB of internal
memory, as compared to the 4 GB on the Ascend. That means you can store an
awful lot more music, photos, games and videos on your phone. The screen on the
iPhone is also better quality, coming with sixty per cent higher resolution and
forty per cent more PPI (pixels per inch), making the picture brighter, more
vivid and crisper than that of the Ascend. The in built camera is also higher
resolution, being an 8 MP device rather than the 5 MP cam on the Huawei, which
means photos of higher quality and with more fine detail. Plus, the camera
shoots video in full HD. There are more apps available on the iPhone, the
iPhone App Store has around thirty per cent more apps available than the
Android App Marketplace, giving you much more choice. And the iPhone is both
twenty per cent thinner and thirty per cent smaller generally than the Ascend,
making it that much more portable.
Why You Might Want the Huawei Ascend G330...
The
Ascend has a couple of tricks up its sleeve though. Firstly, being an Android
phone means that it can run multiple applications simultaneously, letting you
chat on Skype and surf the net at the same time, for example. It also has
better picture colour reproduction due to having a TFT LCD screen, rather than
the older LCD screen on the iPhone. And the screen is larger too, coming in at
four inches as compared to the iPhone's three and a half inches. Finally, the
Ascend is slightly faster, coming with a 1000 MHz processor rather than the 800
MHz one on the iPhone, meaning it's more powerful, snappier and more
responsive.
Is the iPhone Worth It?
In a
word, yes. Although we like the bigger screen and the faster processor on the
Huawei, the iPhone is just a better phone. Even though it's more expensive, the
increased storage, better picture quality and superior camera really do make
the iPhone 4S worth its price tag.
